Finding the Best Credit Card |
Be aware of the terms for
your current cards
Before getting a new credit card study the details of any of your
present credit cards and see if the new card you want to get can
complement your existing cards by improving on certain areas that
your credit cards are weak in.
Study the important terms, policies and concepts used in credit
cards You can be the most meticulous
researcher but if you do not understand the terms and concepts being
used in what you are reading then what you are doing is a futile
effort. Study the terms and concepts that are used so that you can
better understand the conditions being set by the credit card company
and give you a better foundation for determining whether a credit
card is right for you or not. Look
at the other factors that play into getting your credit card
For example, if you are the type who pays
your bills in full every month then a rewards card or charge card
will be the best option. If you think you might revolve your balance
every month then a regular credit card with a low APR will be a
good option. Those with a bad credit history can get a prepaid credit
card as a way of building a good credit history.
Commit to managing your credit card
Before signing up for a new credit card,
make a commitment to manage your credit card so that you won’t
have any problems in the future. Pay your bills on time and keep
your receipts as a way of double checking the charges posted on
your statement. Most importantly, be very conscious when making
credit card purchases so that it will not balloon to unmanageable
proportions. |
